PDM prides itself in producing museum quality prints from our customer’s files.
THE PRINT WORKFLOW
Each new file is examined on a color calibrated monitor and discussed with the photographer prior to a small section of the image being proofed on your selected paper. There is no charge for this proof.
Images that need fine-tuning can be corrected by PDM or the photographer prior to printing the proof. Additional proofs are an extra charge. Final prints will be completed in 5 days or less.
Digital files can be delivered to us on jump drives, portable hard drives, CD’s, DVD’s, email or FTP.
PREFERRED FILE TYPES
We recommend 300 dpi RGB tiffs with an attached Adobe RGB (1998) profile. Because all of our profiles are based off the Adobe RGB (1998) profile, all images are checked and converted to our recommended file type and profile prior to printing.
RETOUCHING & RESTORATION
Is available on digital files. Contact us for details and pricing.
ARCHIVING
Each final print file is burned to 2 CD's or DVD's. One copy is stored onsite and one offsite.
CONVERTING FILM IMAGES TO DIGITAL FILES
Need your transparencies, negatives or prints converted to digital files? Our 11,000 dpi scanner is capable of outputting images up to 2000% of their original size. We have profiles for many types and brands of transparency and negative materials to insure the highest level of color reproduction in your final print. If your photo print can’t be wrapped around a scanner drum, we can capture it with our Betterlight scan back camera.
PRINTING
Photo prints are produced on our Canon IPF 9000 using 12 color Lucia inks and high quality Photo papers, Fine Art Papers, and Canvas. Our custom ICC Profiles allows us to take full advantage of the printer inkset. Print sizes up to 59.5 inches x 59 feet.
